Privacy Policy — Pollenly
Effective date: July 15, 2026 · Last updated: July 15, 2026
Pollenly ("we", "us", the "App") is built to respect your privacy. We do not require an account, and we do not sell your data. This policy explains what the App does and doesn't do with information.
Summary
- No account, no sign-up. You use the App anonymously.
- Your symptom diary stays on your device. It is never uploaded to us.
- We have no servers of our own collecting your data — the App talks directly to forecast providers to get pollen data for your location.
- The AI tips are generated on your device. Your data is not sent to an AI service.
Information the App uses
Location. With your permission, the App uses your device location (at reduced/approximate accuracy) to fetch the pollen, weather, and air-quality forecast for your area. You can grant "While Using the App" or, optionally, "Always" (used only to notify you before you enter a high-pollen area, via significant-location-change — not continuous tracking). Your location is used for these lookups and is not stored by us or linked to your identity. You can revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings.
Symptom diary and preferences. Anything you log (how you feel, symptoms, notes) and your settings (allergens, sensitivity) are stored only on your device. We cannot see this data and it is never transmitted to us. Deleting the App removes it. The App also offers an in-app option to delete this data.
We do not collect: names, email addresses, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers, or analytics/tracking data in this version. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
Third-party services
To provide forecasts, the App sends your location coordinates directly to these providers, which process them under their own privacy policies:
- Google Pollen API (daily pollen forecast & map tiles) — Google Privacy Policy
- Open-Meteo (hourly pollen, weather & air quality) — open-meteo.com/en/terms
- Atmospore / pollenapi.com (per-species grass estimates) — pollenapi.com
- Apple MapKit & Geolocation (map display and place names) — Apple processes location for these features per Apple's Privacy Policy
We send only what's needed to perform a forecast lookup (approximate coordinates). We do not send your symptom diary to any third party.
On-device AI
"Today's advice" is generated on your device using Apple's on-device models. The forecast context used to write the tip does not leave your device for this purpose.
Notifications
If you enable them, the App schedules local notifications (morning verdict, high-pollen warnings, diary reminders) on your device. These are generated locally; we do not run a push server.
Children
Pollenly is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because the App collects no personal information, it is suitable for a general audience.
Your rights
Because your personal data lives on your device (not our servers), you control it directly: revoke permissions in iOS Settings, delete your diary in the App, or delete the App to remove everything. For questions about this policy or any data request under GDPR/CCPA, contact us below.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, an in-app notice.
